THE same writer, con an epistle esatto Fabius, bishop of Antioch, relates as follows the sufferings of the martyrs durante Alexandria under Decius:

All truly were affrighted. Others having for a time endured great tortures finally retracted 14. But the firm and blessed pillars of the Lord being strengthened by him, and having received vigor and might suitable and appropriate preciso the strong faith which they possessed, became admirable witnesses of his kingdom.
